01:35 – Deus Ex – Mankind Divided : Gone is the yellow filter and triangles, but is that all that has changed in the world of Jensen and his Augmentations? It is 2 years after the incident and a separation of humans and augmented has begun, but how does this game changed compared to its predecessor? Syk and Q dive deep into this question.

11:55 – SEUM – Speedrunner from hell : A Doom / Quake Jump-mod inspired first person speed-running game, set in a world where Satan has stolen your beer, and you jump into hell and are on the hunt to get it back! This time-trial / speed-running game is backed by a great soundtrack that is reminiscent to the Doom series and SEUM will bring you fun, frustration and nostalgia all in one game. They say its Quake Crossed with Super Meat Boy!

19:05 – Valley : An eclectic, beautiful game full of life and movement that will make you wonder why more games aren’t just fun to run and jump around in. Take a ride in the L.E.A.F suit for an experience that borrows jewels from many great games like Bioshock, Dear Ester and Portal and smooshes them together into a sauce that is at times awe inspiring and other times just plain odd.

32:05 – TitanFall 2 BETA : Titanfall is coming, and so has the BETA. The first Titanfall was only a partial success so Que jumps in to see what improvements the Titanfall Team have made to ensure the 2nd in the franchise out sells and competes with its competitors, mainly Battlefield 1 coming out the same month.

Pokemon Go - Podcast

_

Hello and welcome,
This week we begin our journey into the Pokemon GO hype train and see where it take us. We discuss Ori and the Blind Forest, a amazing platformer and Des talks about his experience in the world of Shadow Run: Dragonfall.

02:00 – Ori and the Blind Forest : Des picked up this well crafted and visually beautiful platformer and we both have to agree that it is one well designed game that was made with love. The story although easily lost does not compare to the fun and feeling of the crisp, clean platforming.

11:17 – Shadowrun – Dragonfall: Que and Des talk role playing games and this is a great one you can pick up on the cheap and that will give you a great time in the familiar high fantasy/blade runner world of Shadowrun. Essential for anyone who loves reading and dense (sometimes too dense) turn based strategy over an intriguing story.

19:30 – Pokemon Go: Got to catch-em all, or at least try to. We discuss the explosion of this new game that seems to have caught the whole world overnight.  We can defiantly agree that this is one for the future of pop-culture history, one that we might never see again.

The Division

020 – Darkzone Desires

The Division Coop Review

_

Hello and welcome,
This week we direct our focus on Ubisoft’s long waited release: The Division. We dabble a bit on Tharsis and Hand of Fate but really the only thing anyone has been talking about is the Division.

01:40 – Tharsis : A RNG based indie released space game, Tharsis brings to us some interesting concepts along with some annoying quirks. Que picked up Tharsis last month, so lets see what he has to say. Quickly *ahem* Division.

05:40 – Hand Of Fate: Hand Of Fate came out last year from the Australian based Defiant Development and was a Free download in the Xbox store for February. We gave this game a crack with different opinions. Is it a button bash game? Its a Heathstone type card game? Is it both? Tune in and find out. Quickly. *ahem* Division.

09:25 – The Division: It is finally here. After years of waiting, delays and promises, we get to press play and enter the world in the aftermath of a smallpox epidemic. We go in-depth on how this Ubisoft title has delivered and sometimes under-delivered on its promises over the years.  We discuss how the AI interacts with players, How the weapon and cover-system feels, a few bit and bobs of our general game play experience, and finally, the DARKZONE.

019 – New year | Old Games

game of the year

_

Hello and welcome,
This week the attention is focused on Sykmyn as catches up and we cover some older titles on our gaming rotation during the Christmas break.

01:34 – Alien Isolation : Jump scares and intense background music is riddled in the hallways of the spaceship which houses a creature that is out to kill you. Sykmyn grabbed this action-adventure stealth(ish) game on sale over the Christmas break and has been making his way through the ship trying to solve all types of mysteries of space time and beyond. Or youre simple there to recover a flight recorder from Nostromo spacecraft.

17:09 – Warframe: Warframe is a game that has had interested Sykmyn for a while, and since the new year is when all the good games are coming out he had a bit of time to give this third-person, procedurally generated grinder a go. Although initial impressions are good, there’s some question as to the longevity of the action and difficulty of the cooperativeness.

29:47 – Thief: A game that came out during the release period of the Xbox One, Thief is now 2 years into its life and was free for Xbox Lives users in December 2015. Sykmyn tries to overcome some strange design decisions and reminisces on it’s similarities with Assassins Creed and Dishonoured, letting you know if it may still be worth the coin ( for those on PS4 or PC).

40:18 – Three Fourths Home: Extended Edition: Queball is starting a new years resolution to try games he would normally stay clear of. Three Fourths Home is the first Indie title to start the year off on, with the extended edition coming to the Xbox Marketplace. Queball discusses the ups and downs of this hour and half long experience, one which challenges and blends genres in the vain of other similar games like Gone Home, The Beginners Guide and Dear Ester.

018 – 2015 Gaming Year In Review

game of the year

Hello and welcome to the world of tomorrow!
… and by tomorrow I mean 2016.

It’s a new year and it looks like there is a lot of excitement for the year ahead for gamers of all kind, but before we leave 2015 behind us we have to wrap up the games that had caught our attention last year.

So sit back with a cup of Coffee and listen to us talk about Rainbow 6 Siege and Call Of Duty : Black Ops III before we get in to our Top Games for 2015.

01:12 – Rainbow 6 : Siege has been one of the most enjoyable games on PC that I have had for a while so we took the plunge and grabbed the game on Xbox One so Sykmyn could get in on the fun. Unfortunately, as discussed in this episode, the experience was less then desirable compared to its PC counterpart. We talk about some of its downfalls and have a in depth discussion about full priced multiplayer only games and how this is becoming the norm in the industry.

26:56 – It finally happened! Sykmyn swallowed his pride and grabbed a copy of Call Of Duty : Black Ops III! This latest iteration of the franchise has added new features like 4 player drop-in co-op into its campaign which is what caught our interest. We discuss our experience with the new Realistic difficulty level and Sykmyn explains why he has never liked COD Multiplayer.

39:35 – As 2015 comes to a close it we would like to discuss our picks for games of the year. This year has been slow on good games, especially ones focused on Co-op gameplay,, but we came up with a list that we enjoyed over the year.

Some of the nominees include Dying Light, Don’t Starve Together, ARK : Evlolved, Starwars : Battlefront, Halo 5, Rainbow 6 : Siege, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid : Phantom Pain, The Witcher 3, Pneuma.

fallout 4

017 – Star, Siege and Nuclear Wars

fallout 4
COOP_PODCAST
This week we play all new releases that take us in to Wars of all kind, from the stars, to terrorists and finally nuclear.

1:10 – One of the most awaited games of the past year, Starwars : Battlefront has been on many is not most peoples wishlist and it is safe to say that many of the copies will not be returned to the store as it brings in the action packed First Person or 3rd Person shooter fun, with the nostalgia of the Star wars Franchise into one nice little package. Whether you want to fight as Luke, or join the Darkside with Vader, Battlefront gives you a variety of character and play options even though the modes can feel quite similar.

17:05 – You’ve made a plan – your team has surrounded the building – charges are placed – drones deployed – heart is racing.. you are ready to breach. {BOOM} The smoke clears and now you need to make your way to the destination. Disarm that bomb, rescue that hostage. This could be you if you grab a copy of Rainbow 6 : Siege. This Cop vs Terrorist Realistic FPS shooter has endless hours of fun being the good and bad guy as you try to win against a opposing armored team. Que discusses his initial impressions and what to expect in the latest of Tom Clancy’s tactical game series.

28:10 – Fallout 4 : Crawl out through the fallout baby, and grab this game. You won’t regret it. Sykmyn and Que talk about their first 3 weeks in this post-apocalyptic wasteland that will take over any of your free-time that you have. This vast open world is beautiful and terrifying at the same time, so come along and join us on this discussion.

Check out Queball’s Spotify Fallout 4 Playlist. A collection of some of the best songs you will hear while exploring the wasteland.

016 – Redstone, Rally, Rails.

COOP_PODCAST
This week we brings along all new titles in our collection with initial impressions on new stories and comparisons to sequels to popular franchises.

1:12 – Creepers and Zombies are the least of the problems in this Telltale’s tale set in the minecraft universe. Sykmyn walks us through his experience in the first part of this episodic adventure. Minecraft: Story Mode employs the typical point and click style that Telltale brings to their line-up of games, but have they been able to pull off the essence that Mojang has brought the this block building universe?

10:28 – With Rally games being obsolete in the past few years with Dirt 3 being its pre-successor back in 2011 on xbox 360, people were ready for another Rally game to play amongst a market filled with Arcade racers like Need for Speed and simulator titles like Forza, Drive Club and Project cars – but will this fast paced, sizeways experience be enough to scratch that itch? Queball gets behind the wheel and tells you just that!

18:15 – Forza 6 has been out for a month now but it is never to late to jump in on the next iteration of the Forza Racing fun. Que will discuss whats new features like the Booster Card, whats the same like modification system and go into the more unknown aspects relating to Drivertars; a Froza only feature.

27:13 – Quake Live has gone LIVE! … again.. but this time its not free-to-play, but has gained Steam integration and a $9.95 pricetag. We will talk about what this means for new players to the game and what benefit this has provided to the community.

015 – BattleFrontier

battlefront star wars
COOP_PODCAST
This week we discuss our impressions of the long awaited Star Wars : BattleFront – after our testing over the Beta weekend, we can tell you how this game compares to other FPS shooters and which parts we believe are Jedi approved, and which parts belong to Darkside.

We test out the opening week of Metal Gear Online and the many issues that make this potentially fun online experience into something that would compete with the dirt found under Skullface’s boots.

Finally we have a quick discussion on what constitutes a game when we talk about the narrative driven experience, The Beginners Guide, from the maker of A Stanley Parable – Davey Wreden.
